I believe that in order for our mind, emotions and body to find balance, the heart and mind must be in harmony with each other. I work with my clients to teach tools and techniques that increase personal awareness and encourage full expression. Individuals learn how to listen with loving kindness and self-acceptance to the wisdom of their own hearts.
My practice encompasses an integrative approach combining art therapy, positive psychology, humanistic psychology, energy psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, transpersonal /spiritual psychology, neurobiology, and mindfulness, as well as various other modalities. I am able to work with individuals to help them discover the method of expression that feels most comfortable.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maine and a Registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board. I earned my Graduate Degree in Clinical Art Therapy at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. I am currently the President of the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association.
I provide workshops for businesses and the community, and trainings for professionals with a focus on incorporating creative expression and work with imagination, intuition, and metaphor into clinical practice. I facilitate experiences at healing retreats and speak at events. I have a private practice in Waterville, Maine and in Yarmouth, Maine. I work with both adults and children and my specialties include self-discovery/personal growth, trauma, grief/loss, adoption related issues, depression and anxiety, and assisting highly sensitive people.
